The sport of Wrestling is regarded by many, as the oldest sport in the world. Wrestling was part of the original Ancient Olympics and has been part of the modern Olympic movement since inception in 1896. The basic concept of wrestling is simple. Each wrestler tries to take their opponent to the mat either directly or by throwing them. The opponent attempts to resist or counter these moves.
Ultimate fighting, much like organized street fighting, began in 1993 with contestants of virtually every discipline. More than thirty forms of martial arts have been represented including everything from aikido to wing chun kung fu. Win/loss statistics compiled since inception list wrestling as the most effective discipline. Always able to take their opponent to the ground and remain in control, wrestlers with no other martial arts training fared extremely well against world renowned experts in Karate, Jiu-jitsu and other similar martial arts disciplines.

"...That's the CORE system for REAL FIGHTING: six upper and lower body striking and kicking methods and twenty-one combat grappling methods. Everything else - clawing, gouging, crushing, ripping, butting and biting are ancillary to the core system. The other attacks like the tigers claw, chin-jab, ear box, rock crusher, cradle blow, etc. are SPECIFIC methods of attack that are limited in use by the NATURE of their method. These methods of attack can be used as THE OPPORTUNITY presents itself. The FIGHTING methods can be used whenever YOU want to use them. "

Karate Chop
There was this little guy sitting in a bar, drinking, minding his own business when all of a sudden this great big dude comes in and -- WHACK!! -- knocks him off the bar stool and onto the floor. The bully says, "That was a karate chop from Korea."
The little guy thinks "GEEZ," but he gets back up on the stool and starts drinking again when all of a sudden -- WHACK -- the big dude knocks him down AGAIN and says, "That was a judo chop from
Japan."
Not knowing what to do, and wanting to finish his drink, the little guy crawls back up onto the stool, and tries to ignore the idiot. WHACK!! The big imbecile knocks the little guy to the floor again, and says "That was a Kung-Fu kick from China!"
So the little guy has had enough of this... He gets up, brushes himself off and quietly leaves. The little guy is gone for an hour or so when he returns. Without saying a word, he walks up behind the big idiot and -- Bong!!! -- klonks the big dude on his head and off his stool, knocking him out cold!!!
The little guy looks at the bartender and says, "When he comes to, tell him that was a crowbar from Sears."

Gems of Divine Wisdom.
The easy way is always mined.
If the enemy is within range, so are you.
The enemy invariably attacks on two occasions:
- when you're ready for them
- when you're not ready for them
If your ambush is properly set, the enemy won't walk into it.
If your attack is going well, you have walked into an ambush.
When in doubt, empty your magazine.
The side with the simplest uniforms wins.
The bigger they are, the harder they fall. They also punch, kick and choke harder too.

Stretching To Perfection.

Good article on stretching.
"...Do the early morning stretches, every morning before breakfast, if you want to be able to throw high kicks without having to warm up.
First warm up all the joints by flexing and twisting each of them, then do a few sets of arm swings, and leg raises in all directions. The whole routine can take about 30 minuets for beginners and 10 to 15 minuets for experts. After reaching your desired level of flexibility, you will need less work to maintain it.
You shouldn't get tired during the early morning stretches, the purpose of this stretch is to reset the nervous regulation and the length of the muscles for the rest of the day.
Do not work to hard because tired muscles become to elastic, and if you over do it, you will defeat the purpose of this exercise..."

The 1911 Colt vs the Japanese Katana
|
|
 |
 |
Katana is a curved, single-edged sword traditionally used by the Japanese samurai. Traditional Japanese steel is considered to be one of the best for creating swords. The forging of a Japanese blade typically took hours or days, and was considered a sacred art. Steel was commonly 'folded', or bent over itself and hammered flat, as many as thirty times. Thickness of a katana blade is less than 230 iron atoms.

Yoga Instructor, Owemi Kriya Wan, may be liable in student's memory disorder, This anonymous female yoga student actually doesn't want to remain anonymous, but after freeing her mind is unable to find her Real Self. "Ms. Doe" says it all began when she couldn't find where she parked her car, couldn't even remember what kind of car she had or even if she may have taken a cab. Her mind is so FREE that now she can't even remember a thing. Also she can't remember anything.
"The farce is to a large extent: The Universal Chi as opposed to the Personal Chi Ki Para Normal Super Unconsciousness of Fifty-Nine Dollars per Hour, CASH ONLY," said Yogi instructor Owemi Kriya Wan.

MartialClub library updated with one of the famous books on strategy. Much of the text is about how to fight wars without actually having to do battle. It gives tips for how to out-smart your opponent so that physical battle is not necessary. In more recent times it has been used as a training guide to prepare one for "office politics" and corporate culture.
3.18 Sun Tzu said: If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat
Combating the menace of the U-boat was high priority for the island nation of Great Britain. The sea was her supply line and the ships that brought the supplies must be allowed safe passage if she were to stay in the war. In 1916 it was German minelaying subs regularly laying mines off Waterford, Ireland, followed with cleaning by British minesweepers with the same regularity. On Aug. 4, 1917 British minesweepers pretend to clear a minefield. After observing this activity, German minelaying sub UC-44 (Lt. Kurt Tebbenjohanns) enters the area to lay new mines, and instead is struck and sunk by one of the mines those tricky Brits left behind. When he is fished from the drink, Tebbenjohanns is furious at what he calls a "practical joke."
